- Provide strategic and disciplinary leadership for a growing Software Engineering & Operations team in Lisbon, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high performance.
- Build and develop your team in Lisbon, including recruiting, onboarding, talent development in alignment with HR and functional leadership in Germany.
- Strengthen cross‑location collaboration by connecting teams, building relationships, and ensuring seamless cooperation across distributed engineering teams and business units.
- Ensure alignment and integration into existing architecture, development security, and quality standards, driving engineering excellence and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and delivery models to increase efficiency, transparency, and overall team productivity.
- Act as a key partner to the German IT management team in shaping the future of the IT organization, contributing to strategic decisions and organizational development.
- Lead and support change initiatives to evolve culture, ways of working, and mindset across the Lisbon hub and the teams in Germany.
- Background: University degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Several years of experience in IT management or technical leadership roles as well as proven experience in disciplinary leadership and team development.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and ITIL-based operations
- Leadership: Modern leadership style (empowerment, coaching, servant leadership)
- Desired working style: Structured, solution-oriented and pro-active.
What makes you stand out:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in international environments.
- Intercultural competence and ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
- Language skills: English (C1), Portuguese (C1 desirable), basic German is a plus.
NETZ FI is the central IT organization of Netze BW, one of Germany’s largest electricity, gas, and water grid operators. We ensure that the systems and platforms behind Germany’s critical energy infrastructure run reliably, securely, and efficiently.
To expand our capabilities and strengthen our IT organization, we are building a new Software Engineering & Operations team in Lisbon. This team will directly support NETZ FI in delivering high‑quality, secure, and future‑proof IT solutions.
Our teams manage the full lifecycle of IT initiatives — from requirements and architecture design to implementation, rollout, and stable operations. As a key partner for business units, engineering teams, and management, we provide clear communication, technical and methodological expertise, and sustainable, high‑quality solutions.
We drive digital innovation, promote process automation, and develop modern platforms and applications that enable Netze BW to operate a future-proof, resilient, and increasingly digital energy network. Through close collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong governance and security standards, we shape the digital future of one of Germany’s most important infrastructure providers.
