Your tasks
A wide range of Tasks

As a Data Engineer, you will enable the development of state-of-the-art cloud-based data pipelines and forecasting systems. This includes processing terabytes of market and weather data that needs to be read in milliseconds, as well as designing advanced forecasting platforms using both machine learning and quantitative modelling: 

  • Participate in the full software development cycle, from initial design to production system maintenance.   
  • Collaborate with Quant Developers, Data Scientists, stakeholders and domain experts to solve challenging business problems 
  • Support our organization with development guidelines, best practices and common cloud architectures 
  • Manage and communicate our requirements to infrastructure and operations teams 
Your profile
Convincing Profile 
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Developer with at least 2 years of experience in building and maintaining cloud applications and data pipelines 
  • Strong skills in Python development, cloud computing infrastructure (ideally AWS) and software craftsmanship 
  • Expert knowledge of: 
    • SQL and NoSQL database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or Snowflake 
    • Containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Linux 
    • Infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform or Cloudformation  
    • CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Github and Jenkins 
    • Working with and designing HTTP and Python APIs 
  • Experience in trading or commodity markets, alternatively fundamental forecasting

EnBW's Trading business unit is EnBW's central market access point to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. Our Trading unit is responsible for the optimal management of EnBW's portfolio, is active in the trading of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital in trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies.  EnBW's Business Unit Trading operates with an international team with employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 European locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.  Take the chance and play a part in shaping the future.
