* Workation: Up to 30 calendar days at a time and up to 90 calendar days within a 12-month period, if the general conditions permit this in the chosen EU country

Your tasks

As  Professional Software Engineer you 

  • work in an agile DevOps team with passionate problem solvers and develop new solutions for our traders.
  • you analyze together with the team use cases, identify requirements and design secure cloud solutions for in-house applications.
  • contribute to all phases of the end-to-end software development process, from understanding problems, finding and implementing solutions to supporting them.
  • work closely with traders and portfolio managers to understand their requirements first-hand.
  • keep an eye on the architecture and the interaction of all elements of the infrastructure and continuously develop them further.
  • take pride in your work and in providing solutions which are maintainable, secure and support-friendly.
Your profile
  • Several years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Expert knowledge in Java and Spring, good experience in web technologies (Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS) and ideally in Thymeleaf.
  • First experience in document-oriented databases, preferably MongoDB (Atlas).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, as well as a strong understanding of AWS services. This includes, but is not limited to Cloudformation, ECS, Lambda and S3.
  • Tool knowledge: use of Azure DevOps, automation through pipelines, IaC, especially serverless and CloudFormation.
  • Datadog monitoring and logging are no foreign words for you.
  • Experience in energy trading or in a comparable environment is a big plus.
  • Social skills: You feel empowered by a fast-paced environment and are prepared to “go the extra mile”, if necessary.
  • Very good communication skills in German and English.
About the department

EnBW's Trading business unit is the central point of access to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. The Trading business unit is responsible for the optimal management of the EnBW portfolio, is active in the marketing of renewable energies and thus supports the energy transition. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies.  EnBW's business unit Trading operates with an international team of employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.

In our team, we work primarily remotely and currently meet once per quarter at our office in Karlsruhe.
