Your tasks

As Project Director you will be in charge of leading one of our secured offshore wind projects “Dreekant” towards the final investment decision. You will lead a project team, identify further improvement opportunities and safeguard the performance in project development. You will be responsible for coordination and interaction with important internal and external stakeholders and thus deliver towards the growth targets and strategy of EnBW.

  • You will oversee project management and design, adhering to governance principles, and aim to achieve the lowest possible cost of energy within the set time, budget, and quality parameters
  • Leading functional teams to develop an offshore wind project towards FID, while constantly striving for business case improvements and ensuring effective communication, great team spirit and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders is your responsibility
  • As part of the portfolio development offshore wind team, you will assure that lessons learned are secured and transferred within portfolio development 
  • Within our own organisation you will be responsible for handling interfaces with relevant group functions, especially procurement, engineering, controlling and legal. 
  • You will be the primary representative of the project, draft the project strategies and manage the interaction with external stakeholders to ensure project performance and visibility, especially towards authorities and project partners
Your profile
  • This position requires you to hold an academic degree, preferably in a technical discipline
  • Furthermore, you should have several years of experience in managing large infrastructure projects, ideally in offshore wind, and demonstrate a profound understanding of project economics, compliance regulations, and the energy sector, along with strong general business knowledge to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively
  • It is expected that you can demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strategic approach to overcoming challenges and a focus on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
  • Additionally, you should have extensive experience in organizing project teams, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and navigating complex international rules and regulations in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and Global Procurement
  • You would be a great fit if you are a solution-oriented team player with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and are fluent in both written and spoken English and German

Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) is a fully integrated energy utility in Germany. We develop and operate various electricity generation technologies and engage in electricity trading in our sustainable generation infrastructure. Offshore wind is a business segment in our electricity generation division with the aim of expanding our business and creating value for EnBW. As a central business area, we develop and construct offshore wind projects in Europe and manage all issues related to this business.


The New Development department is an integrated unit within Offshore Portfolio Development, consisting of a competence center and a project management office. It focuses on identifying the right markets for our future offshore wind projects and driving the development of these projects in the early stages of the project lifecycle until these projects have matured into a tangible asset.
