Your tasks
A wide range of Tasks
  • Support our LNG desk with high-quality tools and quantitative analysis for short-term portfolio optimization, to enable the day-to-day portfolio management of the commercial team.
  • Development and enhancement of a routing and scheduling optimization model with a strong practical and commercial focus.
  • Support in the long-term valuation of supply contracts.
  • Working closely with colleagues at all corporate levels, supporting inter alia strategic projects and all market analysis teams.
  • Close collaboration with Trading IT to foster platform development and the application of advanced technology.

Your profile
Convincing Profile 
  • You have a background in quantitative modeling, asset optimization, and maritime routing and scheduling, with profound knowledge of optimization techniques and their application.
  • Broad knowledge of European and global commodity markets is essential.
  • Advanced software development skills in Python and GAMS are required.
  • A commercially focused attitude with a hands-on mentality and the ability to interact with commercial stakeholders is crucial.
  • You are a strong team player with experience working in international and multicultural teams, and you are fluent in English (additional languages are welcome).

EnBW's Trading business unit is EnBW's central market access point to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. Our Trading unit is responsible for the optimal management of EnBW's portfolio, is active in the trading of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital in trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies.  EnBW's Business Unit Trading operates with an international team with employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 European locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.  Take the chance and play a part in shaping the future. 


We offer an opportunity in EnBW Trading for a senior quantitative modeler with strong background in optimization. The role is in the Analytics Department. With a team of ca. 20 analysts supported by external developers, we provide first class quantitative analysis & commercial services to a wide range of stakeholders. We develop the infrastructure to operate efficiently on scalable platforms and leverage latest technology. Our quantitative work is fueled by data and grounded on sound market knowledge. In Quant Modeling we apply data science approaches and integrate increasingly machine-learning solutions but also maintain and develop traditional financial engineering models.
