Your tasks

A wide range of tasks

  • Take a leading role in continuously optimising EnBW's short-term gas portfolio, focusing on day-ahead and intraday spot balancing, flow trading, regasification, and storage and transport capacity trading.
  • Take responsibility for gas trading and gas dispatching activities (storage/transport) for the delivery of material P&L.
  • Develop and manage a physically aligned trading business and coordinate activities with other departments to take advantage of additional market insights.
  • Develop new strategies, especially in automated gas trading.
  • Take the lead in implementing new trade and logistics products, working closely with colleagues in the Commercial Scheduling shift team to share positions and information.
Your profile

Convincing profile

  • University degree in a commercial, technical or scientific field, ideally with a focus on the energy industry.
  • A highly structured, proactive and team-oriented approach, even under pressure, with a strong sense of responsibility and commercial acumen.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, with attractive compensation and flexible team organisation.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in MS Excel, are essential, and knowledge of VBA or Python for automation and analysis would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in an additional European language would be advantageous.
About the department

EnBW's Trading business unit is EnBW's central market access point to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. Our Trading unit is responsible for the optimal management of EnBW's portfolio, is active in the trading of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital in trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies. EnBW's Business Unit Trading operates with an international team with employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 European locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.
